Solar needs the owner's sign-off
A system is bolted to the roof and wired into the switchboard, and it pays for itself over six to ten years. That is longer than most leases, which is why it is the owner's decision rather than yours.
Worth knowing before you raise it
Solar is an improvement to the property, and the owner keeps it when you leave. Some are genuinely interested for that reason alone.
An owner who does not live there gets none of the bill saving, so the case has to be made on the asset, not the payback.

What this does and doesn't do
You can ring three installers yourself and compare what comes back. Plenty of people do and get a good result. This is for working out what you should be hearing before you make those calls.
What it does
Sizes a system against your bill, your roof and how much of the day you are home. Applies only the rebates you qualify for. Gives a fair-price range, a ten-year projection, and the assumptions behind every figure.
What it can't do
It has not seen your roof, your switchboard or your meter data. It cannot tell you where the shade falls at 3pm in July, or what your particular retailer charges. It is not a quote.
Who pays for it
Nobody pays to appear here and nothing is ranked by commission. Your details are not sold, and no installer receives them from this assessment.
When it says no
On a small bill, a heavily shaded roof, or a house you are about to sell, it says the payback does not stack up and tells you why. That answer is as common as the other one.
