Fox ESS batteries in Perth: price, the WA rebate and the 2026 rules
Fox ESS is a value-tier battery on this site, and in Perth it has two things going for it: Fox ESS inverters are on Synergy's Supported Solutions List, which the WA battery rebate depends on, and the rebate itself comes off a lower starting price.
Price in Perth, after both discounts
| Brand | Battery | Installed, before rebates | After rebates (WA) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fox ESS | 10 kWh | $7,650 to $13,500 | $3,830 to $9,680 |
| Fox ESS | 15 kWh | $12,100 to $18,000 | $7,120 to $13,020 |
| Fox ESS | 27 kWh | $16,470 to $28,000 | $9,680 to $21,210 |
Installed prices from the same calculator the free assessment uses, with the federal battery discount and the WA Residential Battery Scheme rebate of up to $1,300 for Synergy customers both included[1].
A Perth company in Australia
Fox ESS Australia Pty Ltd's address in its own warranty documents is in Nedlands, in Perth's western suburbs[2]. That does not change what a battery costs or how it performs, but it is worth knowing when you ask an installer who handles warranty and service locally.
Is Fox ESS eligible for the WA rebate?
The rebate needs the battery to join a virtual power plant and the system to be on Synergy's Supported Solutions List[3]. As of 23 October 2026 the list included FOXESS inverters, among them the H1-G2 and H3 series[4]. Eligibility is by model, so check the exact inverter on your quote against the current list, and confirm the battery modules are on the approved list[5].
The 1 May 2026 rules
A system installed or upgraded in Perth on or after 1 May 2026 must be remotely manageable in an emergency, with Synergy communicating over CSIP-AUS, or be set to a fixed 1.5kW export limit[6]. Adding a Fox ESS battery to existing solar counts as an upgrade, so the inverter on the quote has to meet the rules.
Using the DEBS peak
DEBS pays Synergy customers 10c a unit for exports between 3pm and 9pm and 2c at other times[7]. A battery that is part of a virtual power plant may be discharged into that window under the program's terms; one that is not is mostly about covering your own evening use. Read the VPP terms that come with the rebate before you sign.
Fox ESS or something dearer?
On the same stored energy, the cheaper battery pays back faster, and in Perth the rebate is the same $1,300 whichever eligible brand you choose. A dearer battery has to earn its premium with something you specifically want. The comparisons below set Fox ESS against the brands most often quoted beside it.
Get your own numbers, then get them priced properly
Two minutes of questions gets you the battery size your house actually needs, what it should cost after rebates, and what it saves. Then I find the bottom of that price range for you. No installer sees anything unless you ask.
