Queensland averages around 5.2 peak sun hours a day, the second best of any state in the country. The catch is the feed-in tariff: roughly 1c per kWh against about 28c to buy power back. Generating plenty is easy here. Making sure you actually use it, rather than exporting it, is what determines whether the system pays for itself.
When exports earn 1c and imports cost 28c, every kilowatt-hour a battery shifts from daytime export to evening use is worth roughly the difference, less charging losses. If the house is empty during the day, that gap is where almost all of the value sits. The calculator works this out from your own answers rather than assuming it.
Queensland does not run its own solar or battery rebate. Your incentives are the federal STC on panels and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program on storage. That makes quote comparison simpler here than in Victoria, but it also means nobody can offer you a state rebate that a competitor cannot.
