The Tasmanian Economic Regulator set the minimum feed-in tariff at 9.276c a unit for 2026-27, up from 8.782c (regulator's release). That is among the highest in the country, so exported solar is worth more here than on most of the mainland. Power you use yourself is still worth about three times as much, at Aurora's flat rate of 27.95c.
This site uses about 4.0 peak sun hours a day for Tasmania, the lowest of any state, against 4.6 in Victoria. Winter output is the constraint, so a household sizing for year-round savings usually needs a slightly larger array than the same household on the mainland.
On Aurora's time-of-use tariff the peak rate is 36.19c against an off-peak 17.02c and the flat 27.95c. The state's interest-free Energy Saver Loan Scheme closed on 1 September 2025 when its funding ran out (ReCFIT). The federal discounts still apply: the STC discount on new panels, and the battery discount, about $2,520 off a 10kWh battery on this site's calculator for installs to December 2026, when the rate per kWh falls.
